Whole 30

Woohoo!!!  I did it and in retrospect it wasn't/isn't that hard.  I felt better this month than I have in a long time.  I have decided to start another Whole 30 but and see how it goes.  My areas that need improvement is the sleep and stress area.  I think if I can get those dialed in I will see some really significant changes.  The sleep aspect is definitely going to be the easiest to tweek.  I will start going to bed earlier and really ensure that my room is cool and blacked out.  Daily postings of my food intake has been extremely helpful but I feel that I can loosen up on that a bit and if things start slipping than I will be right back to posting my daily food intake.  So bright and early Monday morning July 4th will begin another Whole 30!

Whole 30 Day 27

FINAL STRETCH!!!!

Breakfast:
2 scrambled eggs
very small amount of sweet potato and sausage hash.  My oldest son LOVES this so I had to sneak a small amount away from his without him knowing.
Salsa

Lunch:
Ground beef with paprika, cumin, coriander and chili powder with 1/4 avocado

Preworkout snack
Left over coconut milk and fruit smoothies except today once it defrosted enough for the blender to run it turned into this consistency of soft serve ice cream and it was delicious.

Dinner:
Hamburger patty
1/2 avocado

Whole 30 Day 26

Today was the day of my daughters 3rd birthday party.  I was fairly busy throughout most of the day trying to get the house and food ready for the afternoon party and my eating was pretty minimal because I just didn't have time to stop and make something to eat.  I did keep to my word and I didn't have a single piece of her adorable birthday cake.  I was however, even more pleased with myself because I kept the menu pretty paleo (with the exception of a couple of things) aside from the food that guests brought.  The best part is the "anti paleo" folks gobbled up the paleo food without even realizing what they were doing.  If people only took down the wall and realized that this is just another way of eating a healthy way of eating and it isn't so bad.

Breakfast:
Left over sausage from previous nights "pizza"
1 scrambled egg

Lunch:
Didn't eat but snacked on the veggies while I was prepping them

Dinner:
Lettuce wrapped hamburger
No side

Dessert:
As I mentioned above I did not eat cake.  When I began to feel this overwhelming urge to eat a piece I grabbed my blender a can of coconut milk and the strawberries and bananas that had cut and frozen for an occasion like this and make a coconut milk shake.  Delicious and it curbed that sweet craving that I was having.

Party Menu:
Costco hotdogs which are surprisingly gluten free, preservative free, and no high fructose corn syrup added
Spice rubbed hamburgers with lettuce tomato and onions
Veggie platter w/carrots, sliced cucumbers, sliced red and yellow bell peppers
Roasted red pepper and cilantro dip
Salsa from the Everyday Paleo book
Gluten free tortilla chips (I ate none of these)
I did provide buns for the hotdogs and hamburgers
Birthday cake
.

Whole 30 Day 25

Wow, 5 days left.  I've been considering about doing another 30 days; we'll see.

Breakfast
2 small paleo pancakes
2 scrambled eggs

Lunch
Fish "sticks" which were really salmon cakes that I shaped into a "stick" shape.  My kids love them!

Dinner
Paleo Pizza crust from the Everyday Paleo book.  Added gluten free marinara sauce, sausage, crooked necked squash and green onions to the top.  It was beyond good!

Whole 30 Day 23

This week will be the true test.  My daughter's birthday is on Friday and let me just put this out there I love cake.  There I said it but this year I will not partake in the cake eating.  I've been feeling so good lately that I just don't want to ruin it and being in the homestretch of the Whole 30 it would make the last 20+ days seem like such a waste.  My plan for her party on Saturday is this:  I bought a cake that should just be big enough to serve the guests and if there are any leftover they will either go home with someone else or right to the trash can-outside.  I will make a Whole 30 Paleo dessert for me.  Maybe some coconut milk and frozen fruit blended into a type of smoothie.

As far as today's eats here we go:

Breakfast:
Leftover meatloaf

Lunch:
Chicken salad with mayo dressing.  I remade the dressing that I made earlier this week.

Dinner:
BBQ chicken.  Garlic and onion powders.  Smoked paprika, ground coriander with a little olive oil drizzled over the top.
Green salad with chopped strawberries and radishes same dressing as lunch.

Whole 30 Day 22

Breakfast
Leftover meatloaf

Lunch
Steak salad from Logans Roadhouse
Used sliced lemons for dressing and had them leave the cheese off.  It was a pretty basic salad with grilled steak and I'm quite certain was probably cooked in peanut oil, tomatoes, bacon and hardboiled egg.  I decided that the high probablity of the meat being cooked in peanut oil far out weight the other options that were available on the menu.

Dinner
Rotersserie chicken salad with 2 sliced strawberries and chopped red onion
Use the dressing from yesterday's salmon cakes.
